Public schools in the united States controlled by the various states with the Federal government reaching in, has changed dramatically in past years from the students learning what made this country great to a lesser degree of more recent considered noteworthy events.
The United States ranks way down on the list of public education compared to other countries.
One topic that is getting close in not being discussed in the public school room is the bible. There is nothing in the Constitution banning that.
Unbridled liberalism has crept in and taken over, always the founding of the country should be taught including that of the founding fathers, students should know why we are a great nation. There is another theory out there the left wing government wants a dumbed-down society, the easiness to control.
The New Testament has guide lines to eternal life, there is a lack of learning about the book or even that it actually exists. Having it talked about in a school room brings it out into the attention of students, they then can determine if they want to pursue it further on their own.
The United States was founded on the Jude-Christian principles. Reasonable allowance should be allowed for talking about the bible and some parts of it along with reference to other religions in the public school room.
Of course getting into or teaching the doctrine of a church should be taught in that church, home or other appropriate places. That would be unconstitutional in a public school. The Bible isn’t talked about like it should be in so many places, popular TV stations, Presidential addresses, Hollywood, movies etc.
Morality has deteriorated to a low point here in the United States. We have the largest prison population here in the U.S. compared to other countries. Church attended is low, so many families are poorly run, 50 percent of marriages end in divorce. marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine and other dope use is rampant.
The ACLU a communistic organization will file a law suit against a Public school for allowing a prayer given during school hours or classes on the bible. They will get an Injunction against a public school or some state facility, not wanting to fight the Injunction because of the amount of money needed for a possible fight they fold and that legal use of the bible is stopped at that school or state facility.
What the Constitution Says About It
There is no restriction on a public school or some state facility from displaying or having some class on the bible.
From the Constitution: Amendment 1:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
A public school can not teach a certain religions doctrine , but it can mention certain events surrounding it, and their names, cults can be brought into the discussing also.
