  • Isaiah 7:14-16 (NASB)
  • Isaiah 42:1-7 (NASB)
  • Isaiah 52:13-15 (NASB)
  • Isaiah 53:1-12 (NASB)

Some interesting Facts About IRACT

  1. The Garden of Eden was in Iraq.
  2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
  3. Noah built the ark in Iraq.
  4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq.
  5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq.
  6. Isaac’s wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq.
  7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq.
  8. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.
  9. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.
  10. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq.

And you have probably seen this one: Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible.

But do you know which nation is second?

It is Iraq!

However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible.

The names used in the Bible are Babylon , Land of Shinar , and Mesopotamia.

The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris And Euphrates Rivers.

The name Iraq means country with deep roots.

Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.

No other nation, except Israel , has more history and prophecy associated with it than Iraq.

Note, the Verses Don’t Mention Christ By Name, But They Infer

The verses are magnificently expressed in language correctly pointing to Christ.

Isaiah 7:14-16 (NASB)

14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.

15 “He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good.

16 “For before the boy will know enough to refuse evil and choose good, the land whose two kings you dread will be forsaken.

Isaiah 42:1-7 (NASB)

1 Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations.

2 “He will not cry out or raise His voice, Nor make His voice heard in the street.

3 “A bruised reed He will not break, And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring forth justice.

4 “He will not be disheartened or crushed, Until He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law.”

5 Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk in it,

6 “I am the LORD, I have called you in righteousness, I will also hold you by the hand and watch over you, And I will appoint you as a covenant to the people, As a light to the nations,

7 To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the dungeon, And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.

Isaiah 52:13-15 (NASB)

13 Behold, My servant will prosper, He will be high and lifted up, and greatly exalted.

14 Just as many were astonished at you, My people, So His appearance was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men.

15 Thus He will sprinkle many nations, Kings will shut their mouths on account of Him; For what had not been told them they will see, And what they had not heard they will understand.

Isaiah 53:1-12 (NASB)

1 Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

2 For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.

3 He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.

6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.

7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.

8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living, For the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was duez?

9 His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

10 But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.

11 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.

Again, although the Verses Don’t Mention Christ By Name, But They Infer.

The inference on Infer is too strong to neglect, as to who else would they refer too, but Christ.

In the New Testament in the 4 Gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John is a history of the life of Christ.

In the Epistles they’re 21 Books, they’re referred as books, and also Christ’s work is mentioned, that can be examined to clarify the scriptures referenced above.

Note in Matthew 1:23 (KJV)

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Isaiah 53:11-12 (NASB)

  • 11As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.
  • 12 Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.

Romans 5:8 (KJV) 8

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
