Does God Still Recognize the Jewish Religion? Temple in Jerusalem Mostly Destroyed Rome forces Israelites to leave Israel:
As we Continue the period in which the House of Judah returned from Babylon 538 B.C. to the Roman exile of the Jews in the first century, we find:
The Jews under the control of the Romans had many imposing rules on them. One of the hardship rules upon the Jews was Roman procurators whose duty was to collect and deliver an annual tax to Rome and anything beyond the assigned quota they could keep, which was common practice.
These oppressive rules were an imposing burden upon the Jews building up their resentment until the destruction of the temple in AD 70 by the Romans.
Lets examine wy the temple was totally destroyed:
First Christ predicts, Luke 21:5-6 (KJV)
- 5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
- 6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
King Herod the Great was put in authority by the Roman senate over the Jews. One of his achievements was the building of a new Temple in Jerusalem for the worship of God. It was a huge magnificent structure adorning the skyline in all splendid beauty.
In his writing on the Jews the historian Josephus wrote much of the exterior of the Temple was covered with gold.
When the temple was destroyed it was put on fire and the gold melted running down into the mortar which accounted for Christ prediction:
the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down
This accounted for the Romans tearing the structure apart in order to retrieve the gold.
What happen to the huge stones of the temple is not accounted for.
The destruction of the temple was beyond what the Jews could endure, and they had a massive uprising resulting in the Romans dispersing them from their land.
It’s estimated from sources that up to and beyond that half a million and more were killed along with Romans.
This enormous revolt was the end of which Rome would tolerate ruling over Israel, and the Israelites were forced to leave their land in which Rome with their most formidable military was used as the means to expel them.
Jews today are scattered all over the world, sources estimate up to 13 million, but who really knows.
Some exceptions, like North Korea and Arab countries who wont tolerate Jews.
In the Old Testament in the book of Esther multitudes of Jews are noted that had settled in another land.
Noted in the book of Esther that Esther was the queen of king Ahasuerus in the land of his reign. She and her people were Jews In chapter 8 of the book of Esther.
Much is discussed about the Jews, her people, and their rise in popularity. Sources estimate the three largest Jewish communities in the world:
- Israel (5 to 6 million).
- In the US (mainly northeastern major cities including California and Florida (over 6 million).
- In France estimates 500,000 +.
My Amazon Echo says in asking Alexa, there are 10 million Jews in the United States.
In beliefs and practices amongst these millions of Jews, they vary. What they were yesterday compared to today has changed; what the future holds probably will bring about more change.
Unfortunately, the Jews and the Christian world have problems, but they can be overcome by following the teachings of God’s word in the New Testament; it found that the Old Testament was done away with and replaced with the New Testament, it and its teachings.
The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. Acts 11:26 (KJV).
