In summing up this scrutiny on the Jewish Dispensation, I’ll mention in 4 places men made incorrect decisions which caused negative results in his history. This is noted in the book of Genesis.
- The expulsion from the Garden of Eden, Adam an Eve eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil induced by the serpent. Genesis 2:8 15 17, Genesis 3:1 6 23.
- Next is the patriarchal age which lasted for centuries until it ended, Genesis 5.
- Noah and the flood from Genesis 6:8 to Genesis 8. God had on earth destroyed the wicked and animals in the flood, but the 8 people and animals in the arc are saved.
- The language is confused in Genesis 11, because the only nation wanted to build a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven, indicating unnecessary power. Verse 6 suggests only with one nation, “now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them”.
Note, in other words, no one could stop them because there was no other nation, only one.
It should be mentioned what was done by Noah was good, but many years later, man had false gods. While Jacob, Son of Isaac, grandson of Abraham, was in the land of the people of the east, he met Rachel, who became his wife.
Rachel’s father had false gods. So evidently, there was among some to worship false gods then. Now Abram is introduced in Genesis 12, but in Genesis 17, God changes Abram’s name to Abraham and his wife Sarai to Sarah.
Abraham is mentioned as a Hebrew in Genesis 14:13; also Hebrew is mentioned here in Genesis 39:14, 17, and Genesis 40:15.
Getting back to the Jewish Dispensation as explained in the nine parts and this Conclusion is an excellent example of how man has disobeyed God down through the ages.
Starting from the Garden of Eden, the patriarchal age, the flood with Noah, and the Arc, The tower of Babel, Genesis 11, the Jewish Dispensation covenant is facts to consider.
Continuing with the Jewish Dispensation: From Moses down to Christ and the Gospel is a good 1500 years. Quite a long while in history, many events happened. There is a lot to carry away from that time period in relation to God.
Because Jews to this day still believe God recognizes them and don’t see the validity in Christ and the gospel even as it has been prophesied in the Old Testament book, Isaiah, and its spread over the world, they will for their reason (mindset) keep on with their beliefs.
The coming of Christ and the gospel dispelled the Jewish dispensation. Christ, while alive, lived in the Jewish Dispensation and was a Jew. But upon his crucifixion Matthew 27:51, “the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.”
Then In Acts 1:9, Christ departs earth, and in Acts 2:38, the doors of the church are opened, ending the Jewish Dispensation. We see in Galatians 3:24-25 that “the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ.”
The Law refers to the law given to Moses on Mout Sinai the Old Covenant.
- 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
- 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Given up a religion that is not recognized by God, nothing is lost. The New Testament is the same God. so your faith remains with the same God.
The doors of the New Testament church were first opened in AD 32, and still is, salvation is offered to all by obeying the Gospel. We have only two manuscripts from God, the Old and New Testament.
Genesis starts with the explanation of creation and four problems with man. But with the Patriarch Abraham starting in Genesis 12 and leading into the Jewish Dispensation, we note in the other 38 books how the Israelites behaved, constant disobedience.
Assyria takes captive the House of Israel, which they were never heard from again. Babalon captures the House of Judah for 70 years; a remnant returns to Israel. But the Romans tire of dealing with them and removed them from Israel, scattering them abroad.
When the doors of the New Testament are opened in Acts 2:38, in the New Testament, the end of the Jewish Dispensation occurs.
Note in the New Testament, Hebrews 8:7-13 (KJV)
- 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
- 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of
Israel and with the house of Judah:
- 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
- 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
- 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
- 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
- 13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
The Old Covenant, speaking of the Jewish Dispensation is Done Away With, and a New Covenant is Made in the New Testament:
- 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
