This foreward gives some insight into what each article is about and the articles are written to make viewers aware of the many things that we should be concerned of.
Take note that the basis of the articles pertain to New Testament teachings.
A good practice is to set a weekly time period for studying the New Testament, learn as much as you can each time.
This web site uses the King James and New American Standard Bible, this is mentioned here for the most part because they are accurate. You have to be careful what New Testament you are using as they may have been translated wrong.
Other translations I can recommend are:
- Revised Standard version
- New Revised Standard version
- Amplified Bible
- The Amplified Bible can be helpful in understanding a verse better, but on my site I’d rather use the King
- James and New American Standard Bible.
- There are other good translations out there though that I’m not familiar with.
These articles here and in other categories can be very helpful in your learning process, against forces masquerading as scriptural churches.
Review of the articles:
- The Church of Christ is Autonomous:
This article explains how each local church is self governing, not a denomination. Being self governing each church is responsible for its actions. In a denomination when a decision is made from the governing body it effects all the local churches under it. Then if that body is wrong all the local churches will then be wrong.
If a local church of Christ goes slightly astray they can learn from other churches of that faith and get back to New Testament teachings. These local churches should know where others are located if possible, keeping in touch, reviewing functions and following guide lines set forth in the New Testament.
- Christians are Ambassadors to Christ, Proclaiming the Gospel:
An ambassador is A chosen diplomat of the highest rank, representing ones country views on a subject or area to another country. In the case of an ambassador to Christ Christians relate to others the gospel, and what the New Testament teaches.
The articles goes into more detail and the scripture is displayed indicating that all Christians are ambassadors.
- You Still Have Time:
This article attempts to impress that while you are still alive you still have time to obey the gospel, after that life is over, nothing can be regained. The scriptures then tell us that judgement comes before us.
Emphases much be placed on learning how to become a christian and living faithful. If that is accomplished eternal life is the reward. Our souls are saved by again following the guide lines set forth in the New Testament.
An interesting excursion into points to ponder.
