Paul the apostle wrote epistles, (letters), to 13 plus churches in the New Testament, they are: Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon.
There is no scripture in the New Testament of an authority having the power to control any of the 13 plus churches, they controlled themselves, self governing.
Paul the apostle wrote these epistles, (letters), to these churches and now they are part of the New Testament. The evidence is that they were all autonomous, self-governing.
Autonomous, Opposed to denominationalism, is self governing. Where as denominationalism, is where a single administrative body, or legal hierarchy would govern every church in the organization and they would all follow the same rules and doctrine. The problem with denominationalism is if there teaching is wrong on just one subject every local church in that denomination would be wrong.
